Paul Sills' Wisconsin Theater Game Center Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary With 2 Full Scholarships!

Viola Spolin developed her Theater Games after training in group work (social work) with educator Neva Boyd. Spolin and Sills’ work has always sought to serve the community from which it springs. Paul Sills' Wisconsin Theater Game Center will award a scholarship to cover the full tuition and lodging to a student attending each of our summer intensives in Door County, Wisconsin. Scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate both need and a commitment to sharing this work with their community. We hope to encourage students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.

We will award one full scholarship for tuition and lodging (a value of $800) to a student in each intensive (Theater Games and Story Theater). Dates, times, and descriptions of each weeklong intensive can be found here

To apply, please answer the following questions. Answers to all the questions combined are not to exceed 1000 words. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Email your answers in the body of an email (no attachments, please) addressed to

Please note:  Each scholarship will cover the full tuition for one weeklong intensive and lodging for the week. Students will need to pay for their own travel expenses and meals. Lodging will be in charming cottages with kitchens that are shared with other players. Travel costs will vary depending on your location. The cottages are several miles from the Sills farm, but players often share a car rental or give each other rides. We can help students coordinate ride shares.
